Minecraft, a game renowned for its creative building structures and survival against the game’s “mobs”, has taken a leap into the wild with its latest free DLC, the Planet Earth III Pack.
The Planet Earth III Pack
The Planet Earth III Pack, a collaboration with the BBC, is based on the latest installment of the BBC’s natural world documentary series of the same name. This pack allows players to experience survival from both the predator and prey perspectives.
The pack offers a variety of unique scenarios that players can explore as they embody different animals struggling to survive.
Tides of Change
In the “Tides of Change” scenario, players can choose to play as a fur seal on the South African coast trying to find food, or as a great white shark hunting seals.
The “Arctic Adversaries” scenario transports players to the Canadian tundra. Here, they can play as an Arctic wolf hunting a musk ox, or as the ox itself, trying to keep its young calves safe.
In the “Treetop Huntress” scenario, players can experience life as an impala on the African plains, trying to eat flowers, or as a leopard that uses the trees to pounce on an unsuspecting impala.
The BBC Planet Earth Field Station
The pack also includes the BBC Planet Earth Field Station, a central hub where players can select which scene they want to experience. For each completed activity, players receive a reward to decorate the Field Station Hub.
The Planet Earth III Pack offers an exciting and educational gaming experience, allowing players to explore the intertwined lives of animals from an empathetic point of view. It’s available now and completely free in Minecraft Education and on Minecraft Marketplace for Bedrock Edition.
